15 Bucket Bags To Buy When Mansur Gavriel Isn't An Option

$

The bucket bag has a universally appealing shape: It's structured, but not too structured; fashionable, but not too trendy, and it's the happy medium between a too-large tote and a too-small clutch. It's also one silhouette that both luxury designers and mass retailers have gotten behind (with fervor) in recent seasons, churning out different size, color, and material variations left and right. And while the original cult favorite belongs to Mansur Gavriel (and retails for $495), it's hard to walk into any store without seeing some type of bucket bag these days.

If you're holding out for the OG, we get it. (And Mansur Gavriel is restocking soon!) But if you're looking for some alternative options that are a little more wallet-friendly, there are plenty of just-as-worthy bucket bags (like the 15 ahead) that you can sling over your shoulder now.

On-trend for under-$40? Yes, please.

Zara Leather Bucket Bag, $99.90 $39.99, available at Zara.

A shiny, smooth version gives the classic silhouette a grown-up update.

Trademark Bucket Bag, $528, available at Trademark.

This mixed-media bag is has us seeing hearts.

A metallic mix of trends: the mini meets the bucket.

Loeffler Randall Mini Industry, $295, available at Loeffler Randall.

Anyone else dreaming of macaroons with this pastel shade?

Forever 21 Faux Leather Bucket Bag, $24.90, available at Forever 21.

Classic black is a must-have, for sure.

Mackage Dafney Bag, $495, available at Club Monaco.

A neutral hue that pairs with everything.

Building Block Bucket in Nude, $485, available at Building Block.

Just think how much you can fit in this roomy bag.

Matt & Nat Isshiki, $145 $101.50, available at Matt & Nat.

If slouchy bags aren't your style, opt for a structured one.

Charles & Keith Bucket Bag, $49, available at Charles & Keith.

This buttery leather staple can work all year long.

Vince Camuto Lorin-leather Bucket Drawstring Bag, $248, available at Vince Camuto.

This round, a metal cage gives the bucket bag's simple design a splash of flare.

Costume National Suede Leather Bucket Bag with Cage, $1,170 $585, available at Costume National.

Wear your bucket as a single shoulder bag or a crossbody.

Why blend in when you can grab a squared version and stand out?

3.1 Phillip Lim Small Soleil Bucket Bag, $1,094.19, available at Farfetch.

And of course, if you have your heart set on the original, there's no shame in waiting for Mansur Gavriel to restock. (March isn't that far away!)

Which Song Will Taylor Swift Perform To Open The Grammys?

Taylor Swift will take a break from the Yeezy lyric drama that's taken over the internet (or at least Kanye's always-controversial Twitter feed) to open the 58th Annual Grammy Awards this Monday night. But what will she perform? Should we expect a Beyoncé-level new song? The launch of a new single left off of her latest album? Some crazy collaboration?

According to the Recording Academy, the seven-time nominee will open the show with a song from her latest album, 1989, which is up for Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Record Of The Year (not too shabby, Swift). The pop star, who opened the Grammy Awards in 2013 with her breakup anthem, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," will join more than 30 artists who will be performing at star-studded event, including Adele, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Robin Thicke, Carrie Underwood, The Weeknd, and newly announced four-time nominee, the Alabama Shakes, among others. Lady Gaga will also perform a tribute to the late, great David Bowie during the awards show, which will be hosted for the fifth consecutive year by LL Cool J.

What exactly should we expect from Swift? If nothing else, based on this intriguing Instagram showing our fair Swift will be seated next to none other than best friend (and original squad member) Selena Gomez, we'll be on the lookout for a rousing opening number followed by plenty of front-row dancing.

Seating arrangements are being placed! Look who we found 😉 #GRAMMYs

Until then, we'll have to get our fix by rewatching all of Swift's Grammy performances from year's past.

New research suggests that romantic comedies (and romantic movies in general) can have major effects on your worldview, regardless of whether you consider them guilty pleasures or your life's blood. A study from University of Michigan specifically examined how the trope of the tenacious guy— the guy who won't take no for an answer because he knows you're meant to be with him — influences our views of real-life male behavior.Related: Sex Advice I Wish I Knew In My 20s

The study's authors showed women films with varying portrayals of the common "love conquers all" narrative, all of which featured a male character who never gave up until the female character gave in. Some of the films were more lighthearted, like There's Something About Mary, and cast this behavior in a charming or funny light; others, like Sleeping With The Enemy, in which Julia Roberts's character is stalked by her ex-husband, depicted similar actions as far more menacing. Sadly, the researchers found that women who watched the romantic comedies were far more likely to accept this kind of aggressive behavior as normal.Related: 5 Masturbation Tips For A Mind-Blowing Solo Session

The researchers acknowledged that rom-coms and other forms of mainstream entertainment can perpetuate harmful gender dynamics and even rape culture. They added that a willingness to consider the threatening behavior in fiction as romantic may cause one to take real-life instances of male aggression less seriously. Shape reports that one of the study's lead authors urged women not to discount their first instincts when they believe that someone (herself included) is in danger, regardless of the media they've consumed.

All The Things I’ve Considered Wearing To Sex Parties

$

Romance comes in all forms, and our polyamorous writer Alicia Morgan has tried many of them on — sometimes, all in the same evening. In honor of Valentine's Day and our 29 Days Great Sex, we asked her to catalog everything she's ever considered wearing to a sex party.
Wipfli-Isa_13_0033Photographed by Isa Wipfli.
A black and tan string thong; a full-length, backless Reformation dress, and leather Miista shoes with lucite heels and an ankle strap.
This is my first sex party ever, and I have no clue what to wear. The invitation says “upscale attire to start. Inside the suite, nakedness and sexy variations thereof are highly encouraged. The dress code is strictly enforced.” But that still leaves many questions: Do I wear a black-tie gown to start? Or just a cocktail dress? A sexy cocktail dress? When and how do I strip down? What does “sexy variations” mean?

When we get to the party and I see the ornate and expensive lingerie on display, I realize I am much too simple. When I finally take my gown off after 2 a.m., a man looks at me and says, “It’s about time!” I keep my heels on. The floor is covered in spilled cocktails and who knows what else. We engage in a short threesome with a blond girl. My thong ends up draped over one leg when I am done having sex with my partner in the corner by the fireplace.

Cotton granny panties.
My partner and I get into a debate wherein I posit that what lingerie you wear to a sex party matters a lot, and he says it doesn’t matter at all. I threaten to wear granny panties and no makeup to the next one to prove that no guy will hit on me.

A white lace thong and demi-cup bra from Agent Provocateur underneath a see-through, nude-and-white embroidered cocktail dress — and gold glitter pumps.
I do not follow through with my threat. I’m not a masochist.

Cognizant of the thousands of dollars of lingerie I saw at the last party, instead I opt to wear the most expensive lingerie I own. I take my cocktail dress off almost immediately upon arrival. The guy I made out with at the last party looks at me appreciatively and says, “Nice,” in front of his fiancé. But looking around, I feel as though I look too much like a bride on her wedding night. I feel adorable and naïve, instead of sexy. I resolve to wear something elaborate and black the next time. My partner and I hook up with each other, but no one else.
Wipfli-Isa_06_0026Photographed by Isa Wipfli.
Hanky Panky After Midnight black crotchless panties and bra that unties over the nipples; matching garter with thigh-high stockings; a vintage, see-through mesh full-length dress, and black suede pumps.
This is the ideal situation for crotchless panties, allowing me to play without having to disassemble my outfit at all. Our girlfriend, who we are bringing to the party for the first time, wears a lace bodysuit with a peek-a-boo cutout over her beautiful butt. She bought it out of the window of Journelle, spending more than she can afford. Taking it in at our apartment before we take a cab to the hotel, we all decide it was worth it. After we take our dresses off after midnight, one man tells her she has “the ass of the party.” The peek-a-boo butt allows us easy access, so I sneak up behind her and finger her while she is having a conversation with a man on the dance floor. The man is confused by her moaning in the middle of the conversation, and when he discovers the cause, quickly whisks her away to a bedroom with his date. I decide that I want a bodysuit, too.A black mesh, drape-front, thong bodysuit with a snap crotch.
My partner bought this for me for my birthday more than year ago and loves me in it. He keeps suggesting I wear it to a party, but I hate the way I look in it. I think it makes my boobs (what I consider my best asset) look droopy, and my butt shaped weird. Instead, I wear…

A white-and-gold chemise, the white Agent Provocateur thong, and the gold heels.
I know this isn’t the sexiest outfit, ever (empire waists never are), but I’m running out of options and don’t want to spend more money. I leave the party feeling like a failure — we didn’t make any new connections, just watched other people have sex in fantastic configurations of four or more. I know I should come to these parties without expectations, but I feel the way I did in middle school, when the popular kids were laughing loudly at their lunch table while I read a book and pretended not to care. I wonder what I’m doing wrong.

Hanky Panky After Midnight black crotchless panties and bra that unties over the nipples; matching garter with thigh-high stockings, and black suede pumps.
Since we are attending another sex party thrown by different organizers, I repeat my outfit. And our girlfriend also repeats her outfit, wearing the same bodysuit she wore earlier. We don’t make any new connections. At the end of the party, I end up taking a nap downstairs while we wait for our girlfriend to finish up with a dude. I’m not sure I want to attend sex parties anymore.

Nothing.
Our girlfriend attends a sexy party without us, sparking jealousy, a huge fight, and a breakup.

A leather harness with gold hardware that snaps around the waist and neck over a black beaded gown, Land of Women high-waisted black mesh panties, and Miista heels.
Our ex-girlfriend, with whom we have reconciled and are now (mostly) platonic friends, watches me try on the harness and helps me pick out the panties to go with it. She is not coming to this sex party, since we have decided to keep the peace by divvying events between us.

I work the bar for the first two hours of the party, and flirt shamelessly with the other bartenders and cute men who come to get drinks. I feel gorgeous and classy. Once my shift is over, I take the dress off. The harness, which frames my breasts, is a success. One couple chases me down and asks me to join them, but I decline — my partner would need to be involved, and the woman is not his type. A man I’ve had a crush on yelps, “Boobies!” when he sees me coming down the hall. I decide I don’t want to hook up with him after all.

At the end of the party, my partner and I have yet to make a connection. We turn down a few, and get turned down. I end up lounging on the sheepskin rugs by the fireplace with my partner, looking up at the perfect butt of a model-like woman wearing an elaborate strappy, black and tan assemblage by Agent Provocateur. I have that feeling you get when you hate-like a fashion blogger’s perfect Instagram. I want to look like her, even though we are built completely differently.
Wipfli-Isa_01_0021Photographed by Isa Wipfli.
An $800 Agent Provocateur outfit.
I ask my partner to buy me something from Agent Provocateur for my birthday, and he balks, saying he doesn’t want to buy something for me if someone else might get to fuck me in it at a sex party. And also, he can’t afford it. But I want that outfit. I want to walk into a sex party armored in $800 of perfectly positioned straps and lace. I want to look both fuckable and unattainable. That strappy ensemble represents my body insecurities, his insecurities about his salary, and our negotiations about what is allowed and what is not in our open relationship.

We compromise by going shopping at Brooklyn Fox. I try on bodysuits, but I don’t like any of them, so he buys me a satin tank and panties for me to wear at the apartment for him. At Shag, a sex toy shop nearby, I buy a glass butt plug with a white fox tail.

Nothing.
For the next sex party, I am out of town. I allow my partner to go since he has been invited to DJ. He finds a connection there, and has a great time. Oddly, I’m happy for him, and kind of relieved that I didn’t have to go. I muse about the fact that I actually don’t like my butt, and I wish that a sex party — the one place where I feel most self-conscious and socially awkward, where the stakes are so high and at the end I always feel as though I have been weighed and measured and found lacking — didn’t require me to show my butt off. My partner is appalled; he thinks my butt is beautiful. We go back and forth, and finally I say that I will give the party one more try. The key, I am told by my friend the professional dominatrix, is to go without expectations and just relax and have a good time.

I suspect the key might be to wear gorgeous lingerie so I feel like a sexy boss bitch.

Black lace halter bra, thong, and garter belt by Mimi Holliday; thigh-high Wolford stockings; polka-dot lace mouse ears; a leather collar with a gold ring by Theresa Dapra; suede kitten heel pumps, and a glass butt plug with a long, white fox tail.
I march into Journelle the week before the party and ask for a butt-plug-compatible set of black lace lingerie. The salesgirl doesn’t bat an eyelash, and I walk out 30 minutes later with almost $400 worth of diaphanous underthings that expertly cage my curves.

At the party, my outfit is a smash. Giggling women ask to stroke my tail. Men compliment me on my ears. The model-like woman from the last party is there, and her partner pulls me over to tell me how good I look. I feel sexy, cute, and beautiful all at the same time as I bounce around the dance floor wiggling my tail. And I do relax. I dance and talk with friends and couples, but I don’t worry about the end goal. I turn down connections with couples and singles I’m not so into. I’m worth more than that.

Finally, near the end of the night, we abscond to a bedroom with a cute couple. I can’t find my lace mouse ears when we finish, but I don’t care.

As we gather our things to leave the hotel, my partner asks me if I had a good time. “I did,” I say.

“Would you go to another one?” he asks. “Yes,” I say. But secretly, I’m wondering if I can afford it — now that I’ve experienced the power of luxury lingerie and well-crafted, sexy accessories , I don’t ever want to go back to the down-market stuff.

At least, not when it comes to sex parties.
This month, we're sharing steamy personal stories, exploring ways to have even better sex, and wading through the complicated dynamics that follow us into the bedroom. Here's to a very happy February. Check out more right here.

In case you needed another reason to love Jennifer Lawrence, here's one more that will truly touch your heart: She is donating $2 million to the Kosair Children's Hospital in her home town of Louisville, Kentucky.

In a video posted to the hospital's YouTube page, Lawrence announced the establishment of what will be called the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and prompted all watching to "get behind this cause and help match my gift by raising an additional $2 million to support all of these brave and inspiring children" as part of the Heart Center Challenge.
According to E! News
, the new wing will "feature private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures; open heart surgery, including heart transplant; heart failure; and other conditions requiring intensive care." The wing will also include additional beds for families to stay with their children while they receive treatment.

Specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff, and other professionals focused solely on heart care will staff the new unit. Unsurprisingly, the hospital is extremely grateful for the addition.

"We are equally thankful that she has put her trust in the outstanding work taking place at Kosair Children's Hospital every day by challenging the community to join her in support of our heart care program," the division president of women's and children's services at Kosair Children's Hospital said in a statement.

Lawrence has supported the Kosair Children's Hospital for years and has been photographed spending time with patients during numerous visits, including a sweet Christmas visit in 2014.

Via DemRapidResponse on YouTube.
Still looking for a Valentine? The Democratic National Committee might have just the match for you, if you're not that into the environment, Obamacare, or women's rights.

The day before Valentine’s, the DNC released a campaign and video advertising a new “dating site” for conservatives called "gop-Harmony.” The snarky ad, which purports to match you with someone ”just as out of touch with reality as you are — or more!” manages to be a perfect send-up of not only the GOP candidates, but also of aggressively chipper ads for real dating sites.

“I’m still looking for that perfect match,” a smiling woman says in the fake ad. “Someone who hates Obamacare just as much as I do!”

“I have no idea how the economy works!” says a happy-looking man. “And that’s okay, because neither does anybody else on gop-Harmony.”

The video directs you to the website gop-Harmony.com, where you can take a questionnaire to match with any of the six remaining Republican candidates for president. The site "uses over a dozen metrics"— including "can name everyone on Duck Dynasty" and "is a Slytherin"— to match you with your perfect conservative cutie. But surprise! If you choose the answers that call Obamacare the “worst thing that’s ever happened to America” or poo-poo the war on women as “liberal conspiracy,” you’ll match with all six GOP contenders. How will we ever choose?

Sofia Richie, reality TV star and fashion designer Nicole Richie's younger sister, has been dipping her toes in the modeling pool for a few years now, with appearances including the lookbook for L.A. swimwear line Mary Grace Swim and Madonna's Material Girl campaign for Macy's. But when it comes to walking the runway, the stunning 17-year-old, who has a contract with Select Model Management, has one big fear: falling.

"I've just watched so many falling videos on YouTube that I'm petrified, especially since my dress is so long,"Richie told E! News before walking her first runway at New York Fashion Week. The teen model, who made her runway debut at the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection wearing a Tabitha Webbgown, was so concerned with taking a tumble, in fact, that she insisted on wearing her own footwear. "They had me in platforms, but the falling theory was in my head, so I decided to choose my own shoes," she told E!

Despite her pre-runway nerves, walking in New York Fashion Week was a bucket list item for Richie, who said she "never" thought she'd make it on the runway.

She credits her sister, Nicole, with her fashionably focused career choice, admitting she gets her style from Nicole and used to steal from big sis' closet.

We can certainly imagine that Nicole Richie's closet would be a little sister's dream come true!

9 Ways To Give Your Skin A Mid-Winter Moisture Boost

Winter may have officially started in December, but it feels like it just really kicked in. Temps have gone frigid, we've broken out our heavy-duty cold-weather gear, and our skin feels like it's been tightened two sizes. Dryness, cracks, dehydration, it's all happening. (If you live in Miami, L.A., or anywhere out of the winter warpath, this may not apply — but can we come visit?)

Beyond the falling thermostat, the wind, the low humidity, and the blaring heat inside most offices make winter the harshest season on our skin. But there are plenty of things you can do to restore some of that much-needed, skin-softening moisture. Ahead, we tapped some skin-care professionals to get tips and product recommendations that will give us the mid-winter pick-me-up our parched faces, bods, and scalps are craving.

Try a Milk Compress
You know how they say that drinking a glass of warm milk can be calming to your senses? Well, it can do the same thing for your skin. Jeannette Graf, MD, suggests applying a milk compress to your thirsty skin to help combat the harsh effects of winter.

"Milk contains lactic acid for soothing," Dr. Graf says. "Fill a bowl with half milk, half cool water," she advises. "Dip fresh cotton balls into the milk and dab over cleansed skin. Then, wipe off the milk with a micellar cleanser for the ultimate in non-drying rinsing."

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, $7.99, available at Ulta.

Use Hydrating Products
Dr. Graf also suggests adding a hydrating serum into your skin-care regimen to layer under your moisturizer morning and night. "It's always important to apply moisturizing products while the skin is still damp," she says. "So I recommend that you spray your face with Avène Thermal Spring Water, and then apply a serum that offers long-lasting hydration."

During these dry, cold months, you should also decrease your use of any potentially irritating acne or anti-aging products, says Hadley King, MD. "This may include retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid," she says. "You may need gentler products during these months."

Belif
Hungarian Water Essence, $42, available at Sephora.

Take Extra Care of Your Hands
We're sure you're already constantly lathering your hands in cream, but if they're still feeling dry and cracked, it may be time to take things up a notch. Anthony Youn, MD, recommends these Borghese Spa Mani gloves, which are infused with hydrating ingredients like olive, jojoba and grape seed oils, and ceramides. You can wear them for just 20 minutes, or overnight for a more intense treatment.

If you're looking for a cheaper option, Marina Peredo, MD, says Vaseline and some white cotton gloves work well for overnight moisturizing too.

Borghese
Spa Mani Moisture Restoring Gloves, $24, available at Borghese.

Get a Humidifier
Setting up a humidifier in your room will add moisture to the dry air and in turn your skin — and if you really want to up your game, you can keep a mini one at work, too. "You may want to consider keeping one of the portable, personal humidifiers on your desk to spray a steady mist into the air," says Dr. Graf. "Some of the latest models are virtually noiseless, and come in sizes that are the right fit for your workspace."

Dr. Youn says to make sure your humidifier is set to 30-50% humidity during the winter months — above 60% can cause condensation and encourage bacterial growth.

Honeywell
Warm Moisture Humidifier, $34.99, available at Target.

Take Lukewarm Showers
Ugh, we know this is not what you want to hear when it's freezing outside. But your long, piping-hot showers may be contributing to your skin's dryness. "Take brief, lukewarm showers no more than once per day, and use gentle soap substitutes such as Dove or Cetaphil cleanser," says Dr. King. "And immediately afterward, even before your skin is dry, apply emollients to lock in the moisture."

Dove Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash, $5.49, available at Target.

Use Body Cream — Not Lotion
Yup, there is a difference! Ted Lain, MD, explains that lotions have a water base while creams have an oil base, which is better for low-humidity climates. But it doesn't end there: He also suggests looking for a cream that contains ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol. "[It] needs to have ingredients that can replace the natural 'cement' that binds the skin cells together at the top of the skin and therefore prevents flaking and dryness," he explains. The product needs to bring more moisture into the skin with humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin as well.

"If your skin is already dry and flaking, use a cream in the morning with a low concentration of lactic acid [like Amlactin], which can help remove the flaking skin gradually and allow better penetration of a good moisturizing cream at night."

And again, when you apply the cream makes a difference. Try to get it on your body within three minutes of showering.

AmLactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream, $16.99, available at Walgreens.

Try a Cream Mask
For a quick moisture fix, Dr. Graf suggests applying a creamy mask like Avène Soothing Moisture Mask and boosting its effects by periodically spraying your face with Thermal Spring Water. Leave it on for about 20 minutes for the best results.

Avène Soothing Moisture Mask, $26, available at Birchbox.
Avène Thermal Spring Water, $14, available at Birchbox.

Exfoliate Your Scalp
We all know how important it is to exfoliate our faces and bodies, but our scalp needs some of that attention, too. David E. Bank, MD, says if you're struggling with flakes and an itchy scalp, an exfoliating product may be just what you need. There are many that are made for the scalp specifically, like this one from Kiehl's, but you can also use a mild face exfoliator on your dome once or twice a week.

Kiehl's
Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment, $20, available at Kiehl's.

Keep a Balm in Your Bag
Don't you love when it's the simple (and cheap!) things that really provide solutions? If you haven't already, it's time to throw some Aquaphor in your bag.

"Carry a tube or little jar of Aquaphor Healing Ointment in your bag for on-the-spot smoothing and hydrating for chapped lips, ragged cuticles, dry heels, wind burn, etc.," says Dr. Graf. "It forms a protective barrier to help prevent moisture loss and also has good moisturizing ingredients like glycerin."

Aquaphor Healing Ointment, $14.29, available at Drugstore.com.

Sneaker Heels Might Make A Comeback, Thanks To Rihanna

Remember those stiletto sneakers that had a moment in the early aughts? Well, Rihanna just might usher in their comeback via her role as creative director at Puma. There was plenty of footwear to discuss at her Fenty x Puma fall 2016 show last night (like RiRi's latest creeper styles), but those heeled sneakers, called the Formstrip stiletto bootie, sort of hogged all the attention (for better or worse).

This is no Isabel Marantsneaker wedge situation. It's a full-on spindly stiletto propping up a super-sporty high-top sneaker style — and it's something Posh Spice would've adored (and surely owned in five different colorways).

It's certainly a "love it or hate it" sort of style and its revival has been attempted before. Jeremy Scott trotted out an over-the-knee version (in a similar lemon-yellow hue), created in collaboration with Adidas, at his fall 2014 show. They subsequently cropped up in some street style shots on the likes of Vogue Japan's Anna Dello Russo. Scott was at the Fenty x Puma show, so he probably had a moment ofdéjà vu when RiRi's take on the style (especially the yellow version) hit the catwalk.

Though the shoes were definitely a focal point, there was a lot happening on the bag front as well. If you haven’t jumped on the backpack bandwagon yet, Rihanna might change your mind. There was an “over-the-top bomber jacket Bag,” according to a press release — a.k.a. a faux puffy black jacket in knapsack form that was tricked out with a furry hood and long, dangling sleeves. Or how about the Fur Waistbag, “fit with two pockets for you and your boo?”

The clothing was intended to be genderless: "[Rihanna] challenged traditional male and female silhouettes and blurred the lines between genders that are often times too rigid for her fashion tastes," according to a press release.

That equated to pieces like oversized, cozy-looking gray faux fur hoodies; tear-away, shiny anoraks; and laced-up track suits in black and white (and lots of lace-up detailing in general, including on hoodies sexily styled to reveal some cleavage and a bare shoulder, and a body-con black gown).

You’ll have to hang tight until September to buy these. The wait won't be as long for her latest slew of creepers, however, which hit stores in May. The Fenty Trainer will go on sale even sooner, February 26, the same day that Rihanna's Anti World Tour tour kicks off. As for those sporty stilettos, brace yourself for the possible redux of one of the more contentious footwear conceits of the past decade...

The Maddening Reason Women Have Lower Credit Scores Than Men

As if there weren't already enough reason to be annoyed by the wage gap, there's another consequence you may not have realized. Women have lower average credit scores (621) than men (630), according to analysis by CreditSesame.com.

The credit analytics site explains how the lower average income of women leads to their lower scores, even though income isn't a direct factor in the calculation. Higher incomes mean higher credit limits, so men have an average credit card limit of $20,043, while the average for women is $17,159. The average debt on those cards is higher for men — $3,854 vs. $3,624 for women — but that still works out to men using 19% of their limit versus women using 21%.

"Credit utilization plays an important role in credit scoring formulas," the site states. Having a higher amount of debt also improves your credit score (one of those contradictions that can make responsible borrowers fume), so men are getting two benefits in this category. Women, meanwhile, get their scores docked further by being more likely to have accounts that have been handed over to collection agencies — just another consequence of making an average of $.78 on the dollar.
And in case you need a recap, lower scores mean that if and when you qualify for loans, mortgages, and the like, your interest rates might be higher, compounding the impact of all of the above.

Let that be inspiration next time you need to negotiate your salary, ladies.

Turk's recent clients include Elizabeth Olsen and the entire cast of the "Bad Blood" music video.

Ikea Had One Condition For Being Featured In Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds is bringing an R-rated comedy to the superhero genre with his new movie, Deadpool. But the R-rating isn’t what gave Ikea pause about some of its products being featured in the new movie.

Digital Spy reports that the movie contains a scene where Reynolds’ character loses his cool while assembling some of the chain’s infamously difficult-to-assemble furniture. But the Swedish furniture superstore didn’t have a problem with their Tetris-like reputation being played for laughs. Screenwriter Rhett Reese told the website that, “The one thing we weren’t allowed to do is make names up.”

Everyone’s favorite domestic labyrinth-slash-meatball cafeteria was insistent that the names of the products mentioned were real. Thankfully for the state of comedy, Ikea has plenty of amusing names on its real roster.

“There was a wealth of real-life furniture to choose from, so it wasn't a problem,” said Reese. Can we put in a vote for the Skänka? We're dead serious.
