Republican presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are looking to gain ground on frontrunner Donald Trump across a handful of primaries and caucuses this weekend.
The GOP rivals are competing today in caucuses held in Kansas, Kentucky, and Maine, as well as in Louisiana’s primary.
The pressure is on for the candidates vying to close the gap on Trump’s growing lead in the overall nominating contest. Cruz, who has won four states so far; and Rubio, the victor in just one; could use strong showings to make the case that they can ultimately defeat the self-funded billionaire leading the pack. Meanwhile, Ohio Governor John Kasich has yet to win a contest. The field narrowed on Friday, when Ben Carson officially bowed out.
The Republicans will also compete on Sunday in Puerto Rico.
Results are expected to start trickling in this afternoon — we’ll be updating here as they become available. Ahead, catch up on the results from contests held so far. And be sure to check back to see which GOP candidate emerges the winner of the weekend.
Results for the Democratic contests happening today can be found here.
