Super Tuesday— the day that all the presidential candidates have been holding their breath for — is finally here. With 11 states, plus American Samoa, at stake for the Democrats, a strong set of victories today could make or break either candidate's ability to score the party’s presidential nomination.

Today will see Democratic primaries and caucuses held in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Massachusetts, Colorado, Minnesota, and Vermont, as well as American Samoa. Between all 12 contests, there are a total of 1,017 delegates at stake. These delegates will vote on the eventual party nominee.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is currently in the lead, trailed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. With a close win in Iowa, a victory in Nevada, and a big lead in last week’s South Carolina primary, Clinton enters Super Tuesday in a strong position. To date, she has amassed 461 more delegates than Sanders, thanks mainly to the support of the superdelegates, whose votes are not tied to any primary win (for more on who those superdelegates are and what they mean, CBS News breaks it down here).

As of Tuesday morning, Clinton has a total of 548 delegates to her name, and Sanders has 87, according to data from the Associated Press. Candidates need a minimum of 2,383 votes to win the Democratic Party's nomination.

Polls will start closing in the various states from 7 p.m. onward, and we’ll be updating here with Democrat results as they become clear (Republicans can be found here). Check back to see which Democratic candidate will be taking home the delegates, and who will be leading the pack this time tomorrow.
